Rapid Prototyping Laboratory

The Prototyping Laboratory at Via Fontanelle 65 is managed by the Industrial Engineering Design and Methods group and is stocked with equipment used to conduct industrial research projects and to support the group's teaching. The laboratory's equipment includes Rapid Prototyping systems for additive manufacturing of thermoplastic parts and 3D Scanning or Reverse Engineering systems for surveying complex morphologies.

EQUIPMENT

Rapid prototyping

  • 3D Dimension SST (Soluble Support Technology)
This is a Rapid Prototyping system based on the FDM (Fused Deposition Modelling) technique. The 3D printer can make physical models in ABS (thermoplastic material) from the CAD model of any object, regardless of its geometric complexity.
